How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
I moved from Minnesota to California when I was 20. I had a dream to finish college in CA after 2 yrs at a University in MN. People thought I was crazy because CA was expensive & I didn't know anyone. I had to take out a $2,000 loan to come here.
How I responded:
I just had to believe & trust in myself. I knew staying in Minnesota was not for me anymore. I knew it in my heart. My heart was calling me for adventure & I always loved CA, especially after my first trip here when I was 16. I couldn't get it out of my head & heart. I had to trust in myself like never before. I had been reading inspiring books like, Miracles by Stuart Wilde and You Can Have It All by Arnold Patent. They made me believe that I could do it... & I did! And so much more! Dream big!
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I had to just believe in myself. I had to know that I was deserving of going to Pepperdine just like the kids whose parents paid for their whole schooling. Mine couldn't. I got scholarships, grants & loans. I paid them off & all was okay! Worth it!
