I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
1975 Joined VISTA, worked in a rural community in West Virginia, first in corrections and then in education.
2.
1976 Worked at the Texas School for the Blind as a houseparent for 8 children who where blind.
3.
1978--1980 Teacher in a classroom of First Nations children at an elementary school at Ebb and Flow Reserve in Canada.
4.
1980 Started a graduate program in Early Childhood Special Education
5.
1981-1983 Visited parents and children as a consultant with the Kenora Infant Development Program.

You can make teaching challenging by studying an area more deeply as I did. I focused on working with children who had physical or emotional difficulties which prevented them from being successful in school.
