Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Peers:

There is no way you can be a counselor with only a few years of teaching, you have to be a teacher for at least a decade or more!!

  • How I responded:

Keep focused on the task at hand and make time in your day/week/year in order to accomplish your goals. I remember my kids would tell me Dad school and work at the same time dont make any sense, because it was true; I sacrificed a few years of their life in order to make a better living for all of us in the long run. Now I am only working, still getting time to spend with family and make more income than I did while I was in school working towards becoming a school counselor!
