I originally went to college but I decided to drop out after three years.

Instead, I pursued certifications in skills I wanted to learn.

I'm a certified trainer in both Apple and Adobe tools; now I can help others learn these tools.

How I responded:
People always felt compelled to tell me that I needed to change when what I was doing made them uncomfortable. But I knew that what worked for me wasn't going to be what worked for them. At the end of the day, you need to look in the mirror and ask, "Do I want to do this?" It doesn't matter what everyone else wants you to do; it's what you want to do. My best method for dealing with this is just keeping my work a secret until it's done; then I can show them what I can do.
