My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a Marine; going into the Marines definitely changed my life.
2.
When I got out of the military, I had no idea what I wanted to do, so I went to community college.
3.
It was a great step to help me get back into a study-ready mindset after my long hiatus from school.
4.
I transferred to the University of Missouri and studied education.
5.
While there, I joined the Veterans Center as a transition officer, helping fellow student vets.
6.
I realized I enjoyed my work at the VC more than my studies & knew I had to keep working with vets.
7.
After graduation, I worked as a military services associate at Columbia College.
8.
Now I hang out with vets all day and help them get home loans, which is completely rewarding.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
I don't have any guidance.
How I responded:
Rather than having an abundance of noise or discouragement, my biggest issue was just that I didn't have anyone giving me guidance at all. I didn't have much direction, so I just had to use some self-discipline and start figuring everything out on my own.
