You cannot pursue a career that is intellectually stimulating and rewarding if your bigger goal is to positively impact underserved communities.
How I responded:
I've always believed there are multiple ways to get to your ultimate goal. For me, a rewarding career is one in which I can learn and contribute every single day, in a work environment where I am challenged and supported, while still being able to pursue the bigger-picture goals that make a career fulfilling in the long term. I tried to find a little bit of both in each of the career steps I took, without getting too bogged down if the balance was a little skewed at times.
