I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
First I had a great support system at home. My mom and I would constantly try to figure it all out.
2.
Then I started learning as much about technical audio as I could on my own.
3.
Then I got to the point where I had decide if I wanted to take the next step or just stop.
4.
Then I moved to Hollywood, baby! I stopped taking conventional college courses.
5.
Then I freaked out... but used the uncertainty as my motivation to learn as much as possible.
6.
Then I made friends doing the EXACT same thing as me.. I wasn't so crazy after all!
7.
Then I started meeting more people who wanted to help me reach my goals.
8.
Then I found work and started focusing on this whole thing as a career and not a hobby.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
I hear that audio is really competitive. Maybe you should try to find a safer alternative.
How I responded:
After I took the safe route for a while I kind of just HAD to know if I could do this. It would have eaten away at me if I never tried.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Growing up with very little, I learned to take advantage of a good opportunity when I saw it. Also, I feel that starting to work at a young age gave me an edge over those who never held a job until after college.
