Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
You can't do this because you're just not good enough to be in that job and you would never make it past college anyway!
How I responded:
Don't listen to them. They are wrong about what you can do. If you set your mind to something then do it! Don't let ANYONE hold you back from doing what you want to do. Let them say what they have to say. If it hurts, what they say to you, then that means that job was not right for you. If you really wanted to do that job then you wouldn't let anyone stop you from doing it.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
It was scary because I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know what to do, I had no one to explain to me what was going to happen.
