1.
Grew up thinking that art was something poor people did.
2.
Graduated high school with no real plans for college.
3.
Went to a Junior college for several years (switching my major several times).
4.
Finally decided I wanted to do something I loved and was good at (art/design).
5.
Transfered to Biola University and studied graphic design for 2 years.
6.
Decided to try and enter the workforce because of the need to support my family.
7.
Saw a random ad on Craigslist for a graphic design intern at a place called Roadtrip Nation.
8.
Worked my up from an intern to a full-time graphic designer.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
You should get a job doing something that makes a lot of money--something prestigious, like a doctor or something like that.
How I responded:
Whenever people said things like this to me it really upset me, and it made me want to prove them wrong that much more. That's how I found motivation to pursue the things that I wanted to do.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Student Loans suck.
