Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Parents:
You should find a steady job and start saving money. Those things never work. Get a traditional job and start a family.
How I responded:
You MUST MUST MUST MUST surround yourself with people, books written by people, or recordings done by people who are doing what you want to do. If you don't live close by it's NO BIG DEAL. I live on an island in the middle of the ocean. We have AMAZING techology that can help you connect to almost anyone. Contact those people who are currently living your dream life and ask them to be a mentor and hold you accountable. And then MOVE YOUR FEET. You must take action to create your dream life.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
When I began my business I couldn't afford to not be successful. This was a gift. I had to make it work. I am now grateful for that circumstance. It keeps you hungry for bigger and better things. The greatest risk is mediocrity.
