Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Parents:
You should pick a major that will get you a better paying job!
How I responded:
I have the utmost respect for my parents & was always one of those kids who did what adults asked. My mom picked a major for me, Medical Technology, before I started college, so that's what I started out doing. I quickly realized that I wasn't that interested in the subject matter, so I made the decision to change my major before I told my parents. I registered for the classes I wanted to take, then told them how important it was that I pursue what interested me! It worked out fine:)
