Born and raised in Alabama.
2.
Received her GED and was able to graduate on time with her high school class.
3.
She grew up in poverty and didn’t have the money to go to college, so she began working in the local manufacturing industry.
4.
In order to get out of the socio-economic situation they grew up in, her husband joined the military and they made the decision to move away from Alabama.
5.
Attended cosmetology school—when she and her husband moved back to Alabama, she worked as a cosmetologist for awhile.
6.
Worked for a financial advisor for over 10 years.
7.
When she heard that GE Aviation was building a factory in the area and would be utilizing 3D printing, she decided to apply for a job.
8.
She became the first woman hired at that factory and now works as a Technical Associate helping build parts for aircraft.

Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I grew up in poverty. I received my GED my senior year of high school and moved in with my future husband. He went on to join the military and we moved away from the area, supporting each other in our career endeavors.
